This time around, Samsung has introduced a bunch of new updates for its S-Pen that are designed to make it more useful in a variety of ways. First and foremost, the S-Pen now features a much more aesthetically pleasing unibody design. On top of this, it also has more features and capabilities, as well as still do things like act as a remote for triggering things like the camera shutter or as a clicker for PowerPoint slides. Beyond this, Samsung has now added a gyroscope and an accelerometer which lets you wave it around like Harry Potter and perform tasks on the phone. You can use these gestures to switch between modes in the camera application, as well as zoom in and out when taking pictures. And it also means it can hold-off on 5G for another year, while covering its bases with a dedicated 5G Note 10 model. Whether this approach stays in place for the Galaxy S11, however, is another matter entirely. Samsung’s 5G approach right now caters to all needs; you have a 5G model for those that want it, and standard and Plus options for those that don’t. In this respect, Samsung also doesn’t have to worry about a 5G iPhone until 2020, so until then Samsung could likely have one of the hottest selling 1 phones on the market. In terms of having ALL the trimmings, the best overall handset is obviously the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G; it has the best camera, the best display, the most storage, the most RAM, and it will connect to 5G networks in the USA and UK. But access to all of this awesomeness does NOT come cheap… The top of the line Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G retails for a whopping $ making it one of the most expensive Android phones EVER released. If you go with the lower storage option 256GB, you’re looking at $ which is still mightily pricey! Here’s a quick breakdown of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 prices Is the most expensive the best option? I’d argue, no – and the reason is simple most people DO NOT need laptop-grade amounts of storage and memory on their phones. You will be fine with the lower storage and RAM options. Remember this is a phone, not a computer! If you got the cash to spare, however, why not go with the ultimate Android smartphone on the planet right now? I mean, 5G is an impressive leap-forwards with respect to speed and the camera aboard the Galaxy Note 10 Plus range is already sitting pretty in the 1 spot on DxOMark’s ranking system. Plus, Samsung is now offering 24 months 0% credit inside its official store, meaning you can spread the cost of the new Galaxy Note 10 over two years – and not pay ANY interest! And if you cannot stomach the price of the Note 10, the Galaxy Note 9 is now heavily discounted. The Note 9 is also my favorite Note release in recent years too. And for just $ via Amazon, it delivers exceptional value for money! Me personally, I’d probably go with the standard Galaxy Note 10 Plus. It’s got everything I need from a phone, though it does lack 5G. Am I fussed about 5G? Totally, I cannot wait to have it. But right now my network doesn’t have it, so I’m waiting around for that to happen. If you can love without a VGA Depth sensor, the standard Galaxy Note 10 is still a very good option. It has much the same internals as its larger stablemates, save for RAM and storage options, so performance will, as always, be utterly stellar. The Note 10 Lite slips into the middle at these displays are Super AMOLED panels of the Infinity-O design, with a central punch hole for the front camera, but the Note 10 Lite misses out on HDR10+ support which both the others resolutions are all different. The Galaxy Note Lite comes with an Exynos 9810, so this isn't as powerful as the other two devices, both of which have flagship-grade hardware, either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, or the Exynos 9825, depending on where you buy it. The Lite also has lower RAM and Samsung Galaxy Note 10 has 8GB of RAM on board and it comes in one model with 256GB of storage and no microSD support - something that might be a deal breaker for Note 10+ meanwhile, has 12GB of RAM and is available in a 256GB option and a 512GB option, both of which have microSD support. The Note 10+ therefore positions itself as the slightly more powerful handset, although we suspect the real-world performance will be similar, with the Note 10 Lite some way Note 10+ also comes in a 5G Note 10 3500mAh Note 10+ 4300mAh Note 10 Lite 4500mAh The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 comes with a 3500mAh battery capacity. The Note 10+ meanwhile offers a 4300mAh battery while the Note 10 Lite tops them all with 4500mAh, so with the pared-back specs it might last longer than the other two devices. Both Note 10 models offer 45W charging when plugged in, though the charger is sold separately, and both offer reverse wireless charging too, or Power Share as Samsung calls it. We don't know if the Note 10 Lite offers these features, but it does suppport fast camera specifications Note 10 Triple rear 12MP + 12MP + 16MP Note 10+ Quad rear 12MP + 12MP + 16MP + ToF Note 10 Lite Triple rear 12MP + 12MP + 12MP Both the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ have a vertical triple rear camera system made up of the main 12-megapixel camera with Dual Aperture f/ and f/ and OIS, an ultra-wide 16-megapixel camera with an aperture of f/ and a telephoto 12-megapixel camer with an aperture of f/ and Note 10+ also offers a fourth Time of Flight sensor on the rear too however, which Samsung calls a DepthVision Camera. It has a VGA resolution and an aperture of f/ - and should allow more comprehensive depth information Note 10 Lite has a slightly different configuration. It uses older hardware, so while the main camera is 12-megapixels, it's a fixed aperture of f/ - the Note 8 camera bascially - so different to the other too. The other lenses in the system are different too - the telephoto has a narrower aperture while the telephoto is a lower resolution. All in all, from the spec sheet, it's a less potent at the front cameras, Samsung has put a 32-megapixel sensor on the Note 10 Lite, while the Note 10 and Note 10+ offer a 10-megapixel camera. Again, totally different, apart from the positioning in the centre of the display. squirrel_widget_161484ConclusionOf the flagship level devices, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ offers a larger battery, more RAM, more storage options, microSD support, a larger and sharper display and a quad rear camera setup rather than triple compared to the standard Note 10. That brings with it increased cost with the size - but at least you have two flagship Note 10 Lite is a whole other thing. It offers the S Pen and will come in the same Aura Glow colour as the other Note models, but the design is different, with a bigger body and mid-sized display. It has the largest battery to its credit, but won't be as powerful has the other devices.
